Submissions are now open for the first issue of Vertical Horizons (tng). Vertical Horizons is a not for profit fanzine, with all proceeds donated to Amnesty International’s Stop Violence Against Women campaign. Contributors will not be paid, but will earn great karma and a free contributors copy of the zine.
We are looking for submissions of:
- Short Speculative Fiction by female* authors;
- Speculative art by female* artists, full colour or black and white;
- Short Speculative Fiction that examines gender/race/ability/class/lgbt/cultural issues, regardless of author gender;
- Non Fiction concerned with spec fic/fandom/meta fandom and gender/race/ability/class/lgbt/cultural issues, regardless of author gender;
- Graphical short stories or comic strips by female* artists/writers;
- Graphical short stories or comic strips by artists/writers regardless of gender where content is concerned with gender/race/ability/class/lgbt/cultural issues; and/or
- Anything else that we haven’t mentioned that you think might fit with the philosophy of the zine.
Please note that this is a feminist zine and while it is not a requirment that all submissions be directly about feminism, we request that all submissions reflect and align with feminist principles.

In the case of art please send an initial low res image, a higher resolution image may be requested at a later date for publishing.
*We regard female to mean anyone identifying as female reardless of physical or chromosome circumstance.
